Baby Alera is a crippled kitten that a kind hearted man in Malaysia took in from the street. http://ngothyeaun.blogspot.com/ I've mentioned him previously in my blog regarding animal cruelty. He did all he can for Alera! But, it's misfortunate that Alera gets one illness after another. He finally passed away with kidney failure. It's funny how the internet allows us to connect, how it's funny, that I care about and follow (or stalk ;p) this kitten that's half a world away. I've watched videos and read about Alera being picked off the street, all dirty, dragging around her belly and paralyzed legs and how Ngo took her off the street, cleaned her up, helped her changed diapers, watched them have fun playing with a ball. I certainly felt the compassion and the joy that followed when she was rescued and found a good home. But then, things got worse. She got a urinary tract infection because of her wearing a diaper all the time. She was peeing blood! Ngo took her to the vet every day for 2 weeks or so. Not long after that she tried to chew off her legs, got an infection, then her tummy, and got an infection. Vet visit everyday and it was bad. And once she healed enough she chewed to the bone. This was just all within 6mths. There were good times after that though. Some other admirers donated an expensive kitty wheel chair for Alera and she was able to play outside in a park! She was well loved by her owner. But recently, the kidney failure finally took her life. A prayer goes out to Alera and Ngo. She only lived till 2 yrs old but Ngo had done all he can and there were happy moments. I don't know how many people this story has touched but it certainly touched mine.
